Law and Order collapsed under Cong regime: Naidu

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Opposition TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu said that the law and order situation in the State have collapsed under the present Congress regime.
  
When asked at the Gannavaram airport here, on the rape and murder of a B Pharm student of Nimra Engineering College in Ibrahimpatnam near here in her hostel on December 27 last, Mr Naidu said the State Government had utterly failed to punish the culprits involved in it and instead it was shielding them.  
  
There was no protection for women in the State and the incidents of rape and murder were alarming, the TDP supremo remarked.
  
Mr Naidu flayed the Congress Government for not arresting the persons involved in the bomb blasts that rocked the State capital in August last year.
  
He commented that there would be no use if the student case was handed over to the CBI, as the agency was puppet in the hands of the Centre. Strongly condemning and deploring the girl's murder case, he warned the Government that he would resort to direct action if the case was not unravelled.
  
Ayesha Meera of Nimra Engineering College in Ibrahimpatnam was raped and murdered by an unknown assailant at her hostel on December 27 last year.
  
The TDP President demanded that the Centre should provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) to agricultural products.
  
Earlier Mr Naidu arrived at the Gannavaram airport by a private airways flight from Hyderabad for proceeding to Prakasam district to participate in the two-day Yeruvaka programme.
