CANBERRA: The visiting Indian cricket squad on Saturday dined with the Indian High Commissioner to Australia, Sujatha Singh, at the Indian embassy.

The invitation said the function was to 'celebrate the great game of cricket and our common passion for it'.

Harbhajan was the life of the party, with people swamping him for autographs and photos. India captain Anil Kumble told at the dinner that his team was committed to win the final two Tests. He said the team had been moved by the support it received from the Australian public.

"I'm really thankful for all the support we have had," he said. "Not just from the millions of people in India and Indians all over the world, but also Australians who live in Australia. Thank you so much for all the support."

Said Sourav Ganguly: "Our team has felt a lot of support from the Australian people, and after what happened in Sydney it is not surprising."
