Ajinkya and Yash miss out on tons but help pile up 369 against Digambar Parkar

MUMBAI: Opener Ajinkya Parte and Yash Chavan helped Don Bosco (Matunga) to a healthy score of 369 against IES Digambar Parkar (Dadar) on the opening day of the second round of the MSSA-NIKE Giles Shield (Elite Division) Inter-school Cricket Tournament played at the Cross Maidan on Tuesday.

However, both were unlucky to miss centuries. Ajinkya fell leg before wicket to left-arm spinner Ausaf Chunawala for 93, while Yash was run out for 92.

An unbeaten century by skipper Vikrant Auti featured in Shardashram (English)’s total of 341 for 5 against IES New English, Bandra. Rizvi Springfield’s left-arm spinner Aditya Dhumal has been going great guns. After his six for 14 in the first round, he had 5 for 59 as Parle Tilak were bowled out for 177.
