LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday announced a compensation of Rs one lakh to the kin of those killed in the militant attack on a CRPF camp in Rampur.
 
Announcing this, state Chief Minister Mayawati condemned the incident and termed it as an act of "cowardice".

Mayawati said she would visit Rampur to take stock of the situation.

She said the government has already alerted the police and were keeping a close watch on the situation.
 
"We are requesting the Centre to help us fully in fighting the menace. Lets work together," she told here.
 
Four heavily-armed militants stormed a CRPF recruitment  camp in Rampur in the early hours on Tuesday, killing eight persons that included security personnel.
 
Tuesday's attack comes 40 days after HuJI militants attacked three courts in Uttar Pradesh killing over a dozen people.
