KARACHI: Misbah-ul-Haq regrets the manner in which he got run out in the first Test in Delhi against India after being in a position to give Pakistan a chance of winning the match.

India's only win in the three three-Test series came in Delhi and went on to pocket the series 1-0. Misbah scored a defiant 82 in the first innings and added another 40 in the second in a low scoring game.

Misbah was run out after a fruitful partnership with Mohammad Sami when he jumped to avoid a direct throw and the ball hit the stumps with his bat in the air.

Misbah, who has taken time out from cricket to celebrate the Eid holidays in his hometown of Mianwali, said on Sunday he was happy at his success on the tour but the run-out still haunted him.

"It remains one of the most disappointing moments of my career so far. It all happened very quickly and even at that moment knew I had made a blunder that could cost my team."

"I consider it a bigger disappointment than the way I got out in the Twenty20 World Cup final against India playing a paddle shot. When I got run out in Delhi it was shocking for me," Misbah recalled.

"It is a bad memory for me more so because Sami had given me great support and I was also playing well and I knew I could get a hundred and go on to score more runs. It may have cost us the low scoring Test because if we had put on another 100 runs we could have won the match. I still feel my let my team down," he said.
