Kalayan favours Bharti's return into BJP

BADAUN (UP): Senior BJP leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on Sunday favoured the return of firebrand hindutva leader Uma Bharti into the party fold.
    
"BJP should take the initiative for her (Bharti's) re-entry (into the party)," Singh said and urged the Bharatiya Janashakti Party patron to adopt 'a positive attitude' in this regard.
    
Singh, who was here to inaugurate the Veerangna Avantibai Lodhi Samman Samroh, flayed the Centre for its stand over the Ram Setu issue, saying that by doing so, 'it was hurting the religious sentiments of crores of Hindus'.
    
"When we never attack the religion, beliefs and faith of others, we will not tolerate any such attempt made at our religion and beliefs by anyone," he said.
    
On the Ram temple issue, the BJP leader said that a grand temple would come up where the idols of lord Ram had been placed after the demolition of the disputed structure. "Any attempt to remove the idols would have serious repurcussions," he warned.
    
On the Indo-US nuclear deal, he asked the UPA Government to act in the national interest instead of blinding following the US.
    
Criticising the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh, he said that she had 'failed' to fulfil her promise of improving the law and order situation and making the state corruption free.
