LONDON: A British man has been jailed for three years for urinating on a disabled woman as she lay dying, in an attack filmed by a friend on his mobile phone.

Anthony Anderson, 27, was jailed for outraging public decency after the incident involving 50-year-old Christine Lakinski in Hartlepool, north-east England, in July last year.

A court heard how Lakinski, who had a curved spine since birth and suffered bullying throughout her life, collapsed in the street near Anderson's workplace.

Anderson, who was with two friends Scott Clement and Simon Whitehead, had drunk a litre of wine, half a litre of sherry and smoked cannabis when told she was outside.

Finding her on the ground he first poured water on her.

"Apparently urged on by the fact that Scott Clement and Simon Whitehead found his actions amusing, the defendant then stated he was going to urinate on the woman," said a prosecutor.

"Simon Whitehead, having cleared space on his mobile, proceeded to record him urinating all over Christine's prone body, throughout which she remained motionless."

One of the group shouted: "This is YouTube material" as the humiliation was filmed, the court heard.

Anderson also sprayed shaving foam on her, before the group left her motionless on the ground. One of them called an ambulance only 20 minutes later, after they had got ready to go nightclubbing.

Medics arrived an hour after she collapsed, but there was no sign of life. A post-mortem found she had died of pancreatic failure.

Judge Peter Fox of Teesside Crown Court said he had rarely seen such a crime.
