VADODARA: The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) has announced a cash reward of Rs 11 lakh each to Indian cricket team members and brothers Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan who were part of squad that won the Twenty20 World Cup.

However, Chief Minister Narendra Modi's government is yet to announce any reward for the two players from the state.

"Both the players had played an important role in the historic win of India over arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of T20 World Cup played at Johannesburg in South Africa," BCA vice president Sanjay Patel said.

By capturing the wickets of Malik, Afridi and Arafat, Irfan Pathan had sealed the fate of Pakistan in the finals, Samarjeetsinh Gaekwad, another BCA vice president, said.

Meanwhile, Congress corporator Nafia Kapadia expressed surprise over the fact that the Modi government had ignored the spectacular feat of Vadodara players, even as other state governments had announced awards for players hailing from there.
