LONDON: Former Indian spin great Bishan Singh Bedi has detected a technical flaw in Monty Panesar's action and felt that England's sikh tweaker would be more effective if he irons out the crease.

Bedi, himself a left-arm spinner, points out that Panesar is a tall person but he is not using his height properly during the release of delivery which would then create more trouble for batsmen.

"Monty's coming on really well--he knows his craft. I have noticed one slight technical hitch, however," Bedi was quoted as saying in Daily Telegraph.

"He is tall fellow and he should be releasing the ball at 7ft and not 6'1/2. He is bending both his knees at the time of release, but his front leg needs to brace so that his body weight is on one leg, not both," said Bedi.

"He is not quite transferring his weight properly. If he learns to do that better he will bowl from is full height with even better control and balance," said Bedi who shares a good rapport with Panesar and regards him as one of the best in business at the moment.
