GHAZIABAD: The father of a victim in the Nithari serial killings case on Monday said the CBI has given a 'clean chit' to accused Moninder Singh Pandher in spite of the latter confessing to have asked his servant of murdering one Payal.

Anil Haldar, father of Rimpa Haldar, said before CBI special judge Rama Jain that Pandher confessed before Noida police after his arrest on December 29, 2006 that he had asked his domestic help Surinder Koli to murder Payal after she threatened him. "Despite this, he was given a clean chit," he told the court, adding the CBI ignored this part of Pandher's confession.

The judge fixed July 19 for next hearing. Halder said his daughter was murdered and her dress found from Pandher's house.

So far, CBI has filed chargesheets in seven of 19 Nithari cases registered by it and Pandher has not been accused in any of them. Koli has been booked for murder, rape and other crimes.
