Woman beheads man to resist rape

PATNA: A Dalit woman beheaded a man who tried to rape her in a Bihar village and then surrendered to the police.

Prabha Devi, in her 30s, a resident of Vijavara village in Purnea district, about 300 km from here, killed Mahesh Lal Harijan Sunday night, the police said on Tuesday.

Police said Prabha Devi was alone at her house on Sunday night when Mahesh, her neighbour, tried to rape her. She put up a fight and then beheaded him with a sword.

After the incident, she went to the police station with the blood-stained sword and reported the murder. She has been arrested.
