Engineering major Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) on Monday said it has received orders worth Rs 991.43 crore from public sector behemoths -- Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
MUMBAI: Engineering major Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) on Monday said it has received orders worth Rs 991.43 crore from public sector behemoths -- Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) for construction related works.
L&T bagged the Rs 877 crore ONGC order for the NQ re-construction (NQRC) project in Mumbai High North fields. NQRC is the largest brown-field project of its kind awarded in the offshore oil and gas sector in India.
The engineering construction and contracts division of L&T has also bagged Rs 114.43 crore order from SAIL for the turnkey construction of gas insulated substation and associated transmission network for steel major's Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh, L&T said in a communique to the BSE.
The ONGC project comprises re-construction of offshore facilities at the NQ complex, including the replacement of the existing booster compressor, revamp of produced water conditioning system, hot oil system, gas dehydration unit and other utilities.
The turbo-machinery for the process gas compressor module would be supplied by Japan-based Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
The project calls for substantial quantum of offshore works, with an 'in-the-sea' campaign spanning over 300 days in Mumbai High and is expected to be completed by May 8, 2009.
On the other hand the SAIL project when completed would supply power from 500 MW captive power plant being set up by NTPC-SAIL power company Ltd to Bhilai Steel Plant.
The work involves supply, erection and commissioning of main step down substation and the duration of the contract would be 16 months from June.
Shares of L&T were trading at Rs 1898.55, up 0.46 per cent on BSE.
