NEW DELHI: Describing the curtailment on endorsements for Indian cricketers as a "repercussion of their World Cup flop show", Australian pacer Brett Lee on Monday said the issue can be resolved only by taking a balanced view of the whole situation.

"I haven't really read a lot about the whole thing but I guess after the disastrous World Cup that they had, India are going through a bit of a change and its part of the process," he said.

"The most important thing is cricket and their has to be a balance when it comes to advertising. Endorsements have never affected my performance but I guess we will have to live with that," he added.

Lee said cricketers get advertising offers only if they play well and should remain focussed on their game.

"You get endorsements only if you play good cricket. So that sums it all," he said.

Lee felt Indian cricket was strong enough to come out of the current crisis.

"I think Indian cricket will come out stronger after this because they have a very good team with some great individuals in their ranks," he said.

Out of the World Cup with an ankle injury, the speedster said he had been pleasantly surprised by Ireland and Bangladesh's success at the showpiece event.

"It is great for cricket if teams like Bangladesh and Ireland do well at the World Cup. They have done a fantastic job and it is very pleasing to see these sides rise to the challenge," he said.

Using the time away from cricket to learn Hindi and gain a foothold in the Indian music industry, Lee said Bollywood figured prominently in his retirement plans.

However, the tearaway pacer said he would do only those films, which have strong scripts.

"Its a pleasure to be in India and its no secret that this country is special for me. Bollywood is also special and it is their in my retirement plans. But I need to be very sure about the projects that I pick up. So far nothing substantial has come my way," he explained.

When asked about the latest Bollywood flick he saw, Lee said he enjoyed 'Shaka Laka Boom Boom' for its "foot-tapping music" and "good" performances.

"I liked that movie. It was enjoyable and had some very good performances by the lead actors," he said.

Lee, who sung a chart-topping duet with Asha Bhonsle, said he was all set to team up with her again but refused to divulge any details about the new song.

"She is a lovely lady and we will be singing together again but I cannot tell anything else for now," he said.
