Ireland's earlier two victories in ODIs have been against Bermuda by 4 wickets at Nairobi on 31.1.2007 and against Scotland by 85 runs at Ayr on 5.8.2006.

Niall Brien (72 off 107 balls) posted his career-best score in ODIs - his second fifty, surpassing his 53 against Netherlands at Ayr on 8.8.2006.

Mohammad Sami (3/29) has recorded his best performance in the World Cup.  In fact, in his only previous World Cup game against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo on 4.3.2003, he could not get an opportunity to bowl in a rain-affected game.

Inzamamam-ul-Haq is without a fifty in his last 13 World Cup innings.  In his last 8 innings, he has recorded 7 single-digit scores.

Haq, in his 32 World Cup innings has aggregated 680 runs at an average of 23.45.
