Aspiring Bollywood actor and model Muzammil Ibrahim Tubra was arrested by the Oshiwara police on Monday night for breaking the peace, assault and battery.
Aspiring Bollywood actor and model Muzammil Ibrahim Tubra (28) was arrested by the Oshiwara police on Monday night for breaking the peace, assault and battery. He and three other accused were produced before the metropolitan magistrate court at Andheri on Tuesday and were released on bail.
Tubra allegedly got into a brawl and assaulted his fellow residents of Akash Ganga society at at Yamuna Nagar in Lokhandwala. He also allegedly used foul language and abused the children living there, raising a commotion.
Tubra’s brother Mudassar (26), and three other residents identified as Zeenat Abdul Gaffar (39), Khalil Ahmed (40) and Farhad Abdul Gaffar (34) were also arrested. Residents of Akash Ganga society allege that the brothers have constantly created problems since they moved into the society two months ago.
The main grievance the society has against the Tubras is that they have constructed some illegal extensions to their flat without permission or even a reference to the society committee.
“They also allegedly park their car inside the building premises, whereas other residents park their vehicle on the main road.
On Monday evening, Tubra got into an argument with some children playing in the society compound. He allegedly threatened to break their feet if they did not stop playing.
“At around 8.30pm, the members of society decided to talk to Muzammil and resolve the issue. We were trying hard to call him out of his house, but he did not respond. We then decided to lodge a police complaint,” said a resident , “As soon as we went to the police station. Muzammil called up his friends who threatened some women and children in the society.”
According to eye-witnesses the children were terrified and refuse to step out from the shelter of their homes.
“The Tubras have filed a cross complaint against the residents . We have arrested all the culprits and provided them with medical treatment at the Cooper Hospital ,” said investigating officer and police inspector Shailendra Gaikwad from Oshiwara police station. Despite repeated attempts, Muzammil and Mudassar were unavailable for comment.
