NEW DELHI: Three Uttar Pradesh policemen, said to be intelligence operatives, were caught by former Prime Minister V P Singh's security personnel on Sunday for "tailing" him, Singh's aide claimed on Monday.
According to Singh's secretary, Pushpendra, the former Prime Minister's security officials along with a PCR van of Delhi Police chased the vehicle of the U P Policemen, stopped it near Kalkaji in South Delhi and nabbed three armed persons.
He said that they were handed over to the Station House Officer of the Kalkaji Police station.
Pushpendra claimed that the Delhi police informed them that the three nabbed persons belonged to intelligence branch of UP Police.
Singh, who is in the lead for forming an anti-Mulayam Singh Yadav combine in the coming assembly elections, has complained to the Centre that he was being snooped.
He told Home Minister Shivraj Patil in a letter on Monday that a Tata Sumo vehicle had "tailed" him soon after he left Apollo Hospital here after dialysis.
