NEW DELHI: A meeting of the Central Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) of Congress began on Tuesday evening amid speculation that the party would act against suspended leader K Natwar Singh whose name figured in Volcker report on food-for-oil scam in Iraq.
"I do not know anything," was the stock reply of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde as they arrived for the meeting here. They were asked whether a decision on Natwar Singh issue was expected on Tuesday.
The DAC is headed by Defence Minister A K Antony who has so far remained evasive on disciplinary action against the former External Affairs Minister.
Natwar Singh was suspended from the Congress party after he was indicted by the Pathak Inquiry Authority which inquired into the Iraqi oil-for-food scam.
Natwar Singh's son Jagat Singh has already been expelled from the party.
