BHUBANESWAR: The government has no immediate proposal to hike the prices of petroleum products, Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Murli Deora said on Saturday.

"Where is the question? There is no such proposal now," Deora said.

The minister said UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi had advised the government not to raise the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG.

Reiterating what he had said here last night, he said the government would first wait for the fluctuating oil prices in the international market to stabilise.

The government was providing subsidy of around Rs 50,000 crore annually to the oil companies to cushion their losses towards diesel, kerosene oil and LPG, he said.
