3 hurt as SUV hits four vehicles at Vakola

MUMBAI: Three people were injured early on Monday after a sports utility vehicle being driven by a youth hit four vehicles coming from the opposite side on a flyover in northwest Mumbai.
 
Pankaj Dwivedi (21) and four friends were returning to Andheri after visiting Mount Mary Church in Bandra when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle.
 
The vehicle jumped the divider, hit a taxi, milk van and two cars, a police official said.
 
The incident occurred at 1.15 am on the Vakola flyover on the Western Express Highway.
 
The youth were not inebriated, the official clarified.
 
 Two persons travelling in one of the cars and Pankaj were injured, the official said, adding all of them were recuperating in city hospitals.
 
Pankaj, a law student, has been arrested in connection with the incident while none of the co-passengers have been booked, the official said.
