Gaurav Nigam says he never got ‘dating allowance’

Gaurav Nigam, a software engineer working in Wipro Technologies Ltd, has denied that he was paid a ‘dating allowance’ by his company and has instead accused his wife Tripti of being a liar and violent by nature.

“There is no dating allowance in my company and there is no need to drag the company chief’s name in the whole incident,” Gaurav told a press party via tele-conference. “It is my wife who has beaten me several times, when I did not yield to her demands of transferring the house and car in her name,” he added.

Gaurav alleged that Tripti had ill-treated him and his parents, and when her demands were not met, filed a false case of dowry demand against them. “My parents were put in jail for no fault of theirs,” he said and asked: “Why is there no punishment for women when they resort to such acts, and only men have to pay the price?”

Tripti had filed a petition alleging that the dating allowance by Wipro had broken her marriage and made the company chief Azim Premji a respondent.
