PORT OF SPAIN: West Indies have named a 14-member squad for the opening Test of four against India, starting at the Antigua Recreation Ground on Friday.

The only notable omission from the squad announced on Sunday is Daren Powell.

The fast bowler, who featured in the West Indies' previous Test series in New Zealand which they lost 2-0 under Shivnarine Chanderpaul, has not figured in any of the 11 one-day internationals contested in the last five weeks.

Opening batsman Daren Ganga is the only player in the 14 who has not featured in any of the ODIs that has been selected in the squad for the Tests.

West Indies have not lost a Test series to India on home soil for 35 years -- not since Dilip Sardesai's side triumphed over Clive Lloyd's 1-0 in 1971.

The two sides will also play Tests at Gros Islet (June 10-14), Basseterre which is staging a Test for the first time from June 22 to 26, and Kingston (June 30-July 4).

West Indies squad
Brian Lara (captain), Ian Bradshaw, Dwayne Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Corey Collymore, Fidel Edwards, Daren Ganga, Chris Gayle, Dave Mohammed, Runako Morton, Denesh Ramdin, Marlon Samuels, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Jerome Taylor.
