NEW DELHI: In order to strengthen its handset portfolio, CDMA services provider Tata Indicom along with Samsung Telecommunications Pvt Ltd on Wednesday unveiled Wideo, a wide-screen mobile handset.
 
''Samsung Wideo has been designed to provide multimedia experience to the users. The phone offers 262K TFT horizontal swivel screen, one mega pixel rotating camcoder with up to two hours of video recording, dual stereo speakers, 3D gaming, MP3 player, speaker phone and a pen drive memory with 45 MB storage space,'' Samsung India VP and Head Hyunbai Kim said.
 
Wideo supports multimedia communications with multimedia messaging capability to send and receive video clips and has built-in modem for Internet access of up to 144 kpbs.
 
''We expect to fuel the growth of the CDMA industry in the Indian market through consistent launch of innovative products,'' Samsung Telecommunications Managing Director H C Rahu said.
 
Priced at Rs 21,999, Wideo will come with 60*365 offer of Tata Teleservices, entailing the consumer to enjoy 60 minutes of local/STD outgoing calls free for every day for a year.
 
Samsung also launched a website for online advertising of Wideo.
