SRINAGAR: Even as the protests against the sex scandal refuse to die down in Kashmir, J&K chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad cautioned the separatist groups against the moral policing drive in the valley.

For the fourth day on Monday, Kashmir witnessed sporadic protests against the sex scandal. Led by radical Dukhataran-e-Milat chief Asiya Indrabi, the women protestors staged a demonstration demanding the names of those involved be made public. Police had to use water cannons and resort to lathi-charge to disperse the mob at Lal Chowk. "We want names of those involved to be made public. We do not trust CBI or other agencies. The people involved in the sex scandal should be exposed," she said.

On the other hand, chief minister cautioned the moral police not to defame Kashmiri girls by resorting to such character assassination campaigns. "If anybody has a complaint he should come to me and we assure them of a comprehensive probe. The campaign is harming the reputation of the Kashmiri girls", he said.

Azad said he has already ordered a CBI probe into the whole episode to unravel the truth. "CBI being the premier investigation agency will find out the truth. The chief secretary has personally spoken to the CBI officials", he said. Asked about the recovery of a uniform from Sabina's house, he said even militants use the police and security forces uniforms for subversive activities. "Militants too use uniforms to hoodwink the security agencies", he said.
