Creating music from the age of 10, Ritviz Srivastava, now 17, is one of the youngest musicians from Pune to have signed a contract with Relentik Records, an international music company which is going to launch him as a composer for their new track this May.
Besides being a singer he wears several hats of being a producer, rapper, songwriter, DJ, and a painter. He has been undergoing training in classical music since childhood under the guidance of his mother, who heads the arts department of Delhi Public School in Pune and his guru, Pandit Uday Bhawalkar, a renowned classical vocalist. “People don’t always support you when you dare to think out of the box and want to make a difference, but my parents have always supported me in whatever I wanted to do in life. They are my pillars of strength, and whatever I have achieved till date, is all because of their immense love and faith”, says Ritviz.
Various renowned recording companies such as Chainsmokers, Multiplier, Reggae Rajahs, have supported him in releasing his original mix ‘Beatific’, which got him recognition in the music circuit all across the country. Trying to create his own niche in the industry, Ritviz says he doesn’t follow any particular genre of music, and doesn’t feel the need to stick to anything in particular as of now. “There is so much to do, and so many things to learn in music. Right now I want to explore and try everything that comes my way, but the main ideas is to create something original, and that’s what I want to stick to right now. May be some time down the line, I will be able to give a name to my style of music.”
He dreams of performing in front of thousands of fans screaming for him on day. When quizzed about his love interests, he quipped “music is my girlfriend, and I’m committed to it for life!”
