A 21-year-old youth from Pune was arrested by the Dadar railway police on Sunday for the alleged rape of a 15-year-old runaway school girl from Solapur.

Kisan Sahani, a painter from Gorakhpur, UP, was headed for a job to Pune when he met the Class IX student of a Solapur school. The girl had left home on December 2 for her aunt’s house in Goregaon after being reprimanded for poor studies. The two struck up a friendship after Sahani offered her a seat in a crowded train compartment of the Pune-bound train.

After getting off at Pune, they ate at the railway station and returned around 1am on Sunday. Sahan then allegedly took her inside an empty train coach at the railway yard and raped her.

They then boarded the Mumbai-bound Deccan Express in the afternoon and arrived at Dadar around 8pm. The girl called up her aunt from Sahani’s cellphone and asked for a pick-up. The two then went to the railway yard between Dadar and Parel stations where Sahani allegedly raped her again.

Back at the Dadar station, the girl narrated the incidents to her aunt, who was waiting for her. The aunt raised an alarm and helped nab Sahani.
