Two held for killing security guard in Vikhroli

Two persons have been arrested by the Vikhroli Parksite police late Tuesday night for allegedly strangling a watchman to death. The body was thrown in an isolated place at Vikhroli Parksite.

"Venkatesh Sagar, 36, and Suresh Gupta, 28, were booked for murder. The duo was remanded in police custody till January 16 by a local court on Wednesday. Sagar was working as an office boy while Gupta was working as a driver in a private company at Vikhroli," assistant police inspector Balwant Salunkhe of Vikhroli Park site police station said.

He said that a man hunt had been launched to nab the duo's third associate.

During interrogation, the duo revealed that the deceased Iqbal alias Gulu Sheikh, 25, a security guard, thrashed them and another man badly six months ago.

To take a revenge, the trio took him to a country made bar at Vikhroli on Sunday night.

After consuming liquor, they took him to isolated place at Vikhroli Parkisite where one of them strangled Sheikh with clothes. When he collapsed on the ground, they assaulted hi with a knife. They lifted him and threw the body in a bush.

When Sheikh did not turn up home on Monday, his family members residing at Tagore Nagar lodged a missing complaint at Vikhroli police station on Monday afternoon. Sheikh's body found on Monday evening.
