Offline admission forms sold like hot cakes on the first day in city colleges.

After the state education department’s latest decision to scrap the special fourth list and move admissions offline, some colleges have started selling their forms, while others chose to wait for the department’s nod. Students need not worry as there are plenty of vacant seats in colleges even after the five rounds of online admissions.

Students thronged popular colleges in the city to collect application forms for the offline process. Some colleges such as Jai Hind College, Churchgate, have started selling forms. “Students scoring above 88% have also applied,” said Kirti Narain, principal of Jai Hind College.

Some colleges are waiting for a circular by the education department about the rules. Tushar Desai, principal, DG Ruparel College, Matunga, said: “We will open our offline admission process after receiving the department’s circular on how to go about the process. Till then, we will not sell forms.”
