November 14, 2010, was 21-year-old Mohammed Mohsin Siddiqui’s first day at work at the Grand Hyatt. Since then, he has been missing.

On December 18, his father Sajauddin Bahdhur Ali Siddiqui lodged a missing complaint with the Mira Road police station.

The police picked up Imtiaz Mohammed Ahmed Hussain, who knew Mohammed. On the basis of his statement, Rinku alias Bhupendra Sharma was arrested from Ghaziabad. The police recovered the victim’s mobile phone and bike but have failed to get any information about Mohammed.

Last week, the two were released on bail after the police failed to file the final report in the magistrate court. Sajauddin has moved the Bombay high court, seeking directions to transfer the investigation to the state Criminal Investigations Department.
Mohammed is Sajauddin’s eldest son. “After he got the job, he told me ‘Baba, you won’t need to worry about money, anymore’. I am hoping he is alive,” said Sajauddin.
