Shiv Sena MLA does Annagiri

Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik staged an Annagiri form of protest by giving roses to Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) officials on Friday. They alleged that the makeover of the town planning department was a boost to corruption.

“Development like beautification and modernisation of the town planning department is always welcome but it should not be based on corruption,” said Sarnaik.

In a letter given to TMC, Sarnaik said the Maharashtra Chambers of Housing Corporation has not helped the TMC in the department’s development.

“As a public representative when I inquired about the issue, I came to know that the TMC has renovated its department with the help of private builders,” Sarnaik said.

Sarnaik on Friday visited the assistant director of Town Planning of TMC and presented him a rose and a Gandhi cap.
