A 50-year-old man, allegedly associated with a city-based builder, has been arrested for threatening an RTI activist - who was the first to expose the Adarsh scam - police said today.

Danny Abraham, who is said to be associated with a builder involved in Bombay Improvement Trust (BIT) redevelopment project, was arrested last night following an argument with RTI activist Santosh Daundkar.

Abraham has been booked under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, Sanjay Kadam, Senior Inspector at Nagpada police station, said.

Police are looking for three others who were with Abraham when the incident happened, Kadam said.

According to police, Daundkar was going home, in BIT building, when the accused stopped him and started abusing him.

"Daundkar claimed the accused threatened to kill him. They also tried to throw a liquor bottle at him for complaining about the builder with whom Abraham was working."

The activist alleged that Abraham acted at the behest of the builder involved in BIT redevelopment project.

"There was some property belonging to civic body in BIT area which is being used by the builder. This is illegal. I had complained about it to the authorities long time back. Because of this, the builder and his men targeted me," Daundkar said.
