Quacks nabbed from Thane district

The doctors who were nabbed yesterday for carrying out their practice illegally did not had any certificates and were also not registered with the Maharasthra Medical Council for practising in the state.

In a simultaneous raid carried out in the entire Thane police commissionerate, police arrested as many as 33 quacks from various locations.

The doctors who were nabbed yesterday for carrying out their practice illegally did not had any certificates and were also not registered with the Maharasthra Medical Council for practising in the state, Thane additional commissioner of police (crime) Prashant Burde told reporters in Thane today.

He said that these doctors were from various parts of the country were taking the patients for a jolly ride and carried on their business since years.

Based on a complaint about these doctors the team of officers from the crime branch of the Thane police numbering more than 150 conducted raids and nabbed them, Burde said.

He said that the maximum of bogus doctors nabbed were from Kalyan Zone which was 12 followed by Bhiwandi, then came Thane which was 6 and then came Ulhasnagar which was 4.
