The Pune-based Magarpatta City Institute of Management & Technology (MCIMT) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Georgia College & State University (GCSU) from US.

The MoU aims at collaborative academic development, research, exchange of students and faculty to enrich campus internationalisation and advance global understanding.

Director, MCIMT, Vasant Bang said, “Initially, through the tie-up we will have faculty exchange between the two institutes. GCSU is exploring the feasibility of sending its BBA and MBA students to MCIMT for training.”

He also said that the two institutes will offer short, specialised management development programmes.

“Since India is an emerging market, GCSU is also exploring the possibility of conducting joint research projects, to acclimatise their students to the Indian market,” said Bang.

He said that the reason behind collaborating with a foreign university is to provide international perspective and exposure to students, beyond the university syllabus.

The MCIMT, with an intake of 120 students, offers an MBA programme that is affiliated to the University of Pune and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. The institute also has collaborative tie-ups with the National Stock Exchange of India Limited; the Project Management Certification Institute and the Centre for Excellence in Project Management.

The scientifically designed experiential learning programme and management laboratory at MCIMT enables students to learn practical applications of theoretical concepts.
