The Maharashtra government ordered the shutting down of liquor shops from Bandra to Worli for two days on occasion of the Dr Ambedkar's death anniversary events at Shivaji Park on December 6.

Guardian minister of the city Jayant Patil said on Tuesday that the shops will be ordered to be shut on December 5th and 6th.

Patil said that to maintain decorum and law and order, the government has decided to keep the shops shut on two days. He said that announcing the dry day would not have served the purpose and hence the decision of shutting shops has been taken.
