Nervous about AIEEE? Take a mock test

For the first time, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting its All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) online. But, given that several students could be anxious about dealing with this unfamiliar format, the board has decided to grant them the option to appear for a mock test. Students can download this mock test from CBSE/AIEEE websites, and take it as per their convenience.

The board is gradually shifting its focus towards online exams, so that students gradually become more competent with this format. Most entrance examinations these days - CAT being a case in point - are conducted online.

Avnita Bir, principal of RN Podar School, Santa Cruz, said, “It’s a good idea to conduct the AIEEE online, since most entrance exams are going online these days. It is the future of testing. If the exams are conducted online, it will become easier and faster to assess the papers, and come out with results. These days students are savvy with online facilities, and should not have too much trouble giving the test.”

She added that students can also take the traditional pen-and-paper test in pockets of the country that do not have access to the Internet.
