The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be cashing on Wednesday’s serial blasts to lash out at its political rivals.

Senior BJP leaders Uma Bharti and Gopinath Munde visited the three blast sites and also the injured at city hospitals on Friday. While Munde’s visit was meticulously planned by the party, Bharti’s stop in the city virtually went unnoticed.

Blasting the Centre, Munde alleged that the serial blasts were the result of intelligence failure because even three days later the intelligence agencies were clueless about the attacks.

He also condemned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement that it is impossible to stop blasts in the country and said that the government was incapable of curbing such incidents.

He also pulled up Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Raj Thackeray for politicising the issue and holding migrants responsible for the serial blasts.

Pointing out that the high-level committees formed to look into the earlier terror attacks had not even met once, Munde asked: “How long should the people of this country suffer in silence. The government has to initiate action against terror outfits without any further delay.

Picking on 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab, Bharti said: “There have been so many terror attacks and the government is feeding those who are responsible for the attacks, such as Kasab.”
