Candidates hoping to get an MNS ticket for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections should know that the ‘Big Boss’ in Rajgad, the MNS headquarters, is watching.

Confidential reports about the possible candidates are being sent by the office bearers of the party from each of the 227 BMC wards to Rajgad.

With just five months to go for the BMC elections, the party leadership has asked for detailed confidential reports on all interested candidates from each ward. Special instructions have been given to all the zonal heads to send information of the possible candidates, with or without the knowledge of the concerned person.

“If there are four possible candidates for a single ward, then we are collecting all possible information about all those four candidates. Right from the person’s political history to their involvement in the party is being recorded,” said one of the party’s office bearers. A careful scrutiny of all the possible candidates will be done by the party’s leadership and list of preferred candidate will be prepared.

But what is the need of all this confidentiality? “It is always better to have all the background knowledge about the person, before they are given ticket for the election. It will also help to select candidates without any biases,” said an office bearer.

Raj Thackeray has called for a meeting of all the zonal heads on Monday. It is said that he will be launching a new campaign on the lines of the campaign for railway recruitment process. This time the target are the 50,000 vacant posts in the nationalised banks.
