A 42-year-old man, Madanlal Kudiya, and Draupadi Chauhan, his 19-year-old girlfriend were arrested by the Nehru Nagar police on Sunday morning for allegedly taking obscene photographs of a 15-year-old girl.

Kudiya threatened to make the photographs public if the victim, a friend of his girlfriend, told anyone about the relationship between the two accused.
“Kudiya, who has a footwear workshop at Kurla and his friend Draupadi Chauhan, were booked under sections 292 (Sale of obscene books), 293 (Sale of obscene books to young person), 500 (Punishment for defamation), 501 (Printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory), 504 (Provoke breach of peace) and 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” said a police officer of Nehru Nagar police station. He added that added that they were produced before the holiday court on Sunday where they were released on bail of Rs.5000 each.
The officer said that Kudiya and Draupadi were residents of Nehru Nagar in Kurla. Draupadi was married but had left her husband and was staying with her parents. The 15-year-old victim, a close friend of Draupadi, knew about their affair, he added.
“Kudiya was scared that the victim would tell their family members about their relationship. He asked Draupadi to take a photograph of the victim when she having a bath,” said the police officer. Draupadi took the victim’s photo on Kudiya mobile and they shared the photo via bluetooth.
Kudiya threatened the victim with the photograph and then passed the photograph to a few of his friends. The victim’s brother came to know about the picture being circulated and approached the Nehru Nagar police station on Saturday night. He lodged a complaint against Kudiya and Draupadi.
