Man, colleague die in road mishap in Mumbai

A biker and his pillion were killed in a fatal accident on Wednesday night at Premier Road in Kurla (West) after a speeding oil tanker rammed into their bike.

A biker and his pillion were killed in a fatal accident on Wednesday night at Premier Road in Kurla (West) after a speeding oil tanker rammed into their bike.

According to police, the mishap took place at around 11.15pm. Kartik Avalani, 22, and his female colleague Avani Raacchh, 22, were returning to their Ghatkopar home on a motorbike after shopping at Bandra. When they reached opposite Kohinoor Mall, the speeding tanker going towards Ghatkopar, rammed into their bike. Kartik and Avani sustained severe injuries on head and legs.

They were rushed to the Kohinoor hospital by the passers-by, but were declared dead before admission.

The tanker driver sped away and is absconding since.
