Maharashtra education minister to review students' suicide

The minister has directed all the district level education officers to report any such case in the area within 24 hours.

Maharashtra government is going to review suicides by nine students in last six days and have alerted district education officers against such cases.
       
"We would review the past incidents of suicides by the students to find out the reason," school education minister told reporters here today.
       
Thorat said government is trying to find out if the students were over burdened with studies or pressurised by the parents and then only reach to some conclusion.
       
"The government would now intesify the Anti-Stress Project started earlier in all the districts. The awarness among parents and students is also required and will have communication with them," Thorat said.

Three more students have ended their lives yesterday, one each in Pune, Nashik and Mumbai taking the toll of student suicides to nine in last six days, police said.
