If India wins the much awaited semifinal against Pakistan on Wednesday, Ashok Jadhav, owner of Satyam, a misal joint in Sadashiv Peth, plans to celebrate the victory in a rather unique way.

A conspicuous board outside his eatery announces that patrons buying a plate of misal would get another one free, if the men in blue emerge victorious.

The small eatery opposite Bharat Natya Mandir has been the talk of the locality ever since Jadhav announced this offer, which will be valid throughout March 31. Jadhav has been urging cricket fans to register their name in advance to avail of this offer. A plate of misal here costs Rs30.

“I am a cricket lover and I am 100% sure that we are going to win the match against Pakistan. Till now, 700 customers have registered with us and we are preparing misal for 5,000 customers,” he said.

Jadhav has already sprung into action, procuring the required material to cater to the surge of patrons expected to avail themselves of the offer. “We have purchased 250 kg onions, 150 kg tomatoes and 5 kg of garlic and ginger.  As we will need extra workers to make this huge quantity of misal, 35 people from my family, relatives and friends have come forward to help me in this initiative,” said Jadhav.

Though the offer does not make business sense for Jadhav, he doesn’t mind cutting into his profits for the love for his nation. “I think it’s a small service towards my team and let us hope India gets the World Cup this time,” he said.
