CBSE students unhappy with the question paper can now directly write to the board about discrepancies in it.

The CBSE has designed an observation schedule where students as well as schools can record their observations if they find discrepancies in the question paper.

Students can write their comments, such as if the question was out of syllabus, if it was beyond the comprehension level, and faulty translation and defective formation of questions.

Students can either mail or fax their observations to the joint secretary (coordination), CBSE, and also to the regional subject expert within 24 hours of the exam.
Schools have welcomed the schedule.

“Students get anxious if something goes wrong in the question paper. They doubt scoring even grace marks. This will act as a platform for them to share their views,” said Avnita Bir, principal, RN Podar School, Santa Cruz.

An expert committee chosen by the board will decide changes in the marking scheme for the papers.
