Vikesh Jain (25), a businessman engaged in foreign exchange trading, was kidnapped by an unidentified woman on Saturday afternoon.

Jain is a partner in Daspan Forex Pvt Ltd, a firm dealing in foreign exchange trading in Dadar. On Friday, he received a call from his friend (name not known) who told him that he wanted to exchange some foreign currency at Goregaon. Jain promised him that he would meet him on Saturday.

On Saturday, Vikesh, carrying Rs3 lakh, left his office at around 11.30am . He was travelling by a train to meet his friend.

At around 1.32pm, Mangilal Jain, Vikesh’s father, received a call on his office landline from a woman. The woman told Jain: “We have kidnapped your son. Don’t search for him for at least one month. We will release him after our work is completed.”

Mangilal thought that it was a prank call and called his son to find out where he was. But he was shocked to discover that the son’s mobile phones were switched off. Jain finally lodged a case of kidnapping at Dadar police station at around 3.30pm on Saturday.

“Vikesh’s mobile phone has been kept on tracking. We have also inquired with his friends and relatives,” said Jayendra Sawant, assistant police inspector of Dadar police station. He added that a team has been formed to trace Vikesh.
