Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday announced a campaign, to be put into action during elections to legislative assemblies in five states slated for 2012, to bring back to India black money
illegally stashed abroad.

He demanded that all candidates support the issue in writing and warned of a campaign against those candidates and parties that do not support him.

Ramdev is in the city for a 3-day yoga camp at Mahanagar Estate in Kharadi. He told media persons, “The rally I have started to create awareness about corruption has completed 1 lakh km. Now we are going to concentrate on Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa,  where assembly elections are going to take place next year.”

“We will carry out dharnas and rallies in these states before the elections, creating awareness on the issue of corruption and retrieving black money,” he said. Asked whether he supports Anna Hazare in his movement for a strong Lokpal Bill, Ramdev said, “I feel that a strong Lokpal is a must, but the issue of black money is more serious and, therefore, we are concentrating more on it.” Ramdev said, “We would like the government to declare all black money a national treasure, file a first information report under the relevant law, and investigate all active politicians, Class I officials and corporates who have assets of more than Rs20 crore.”
