Biker dies a month after accident in Mumbai

According to Dindoshi police, the incident took place on December 2 in the afternoon, on the Western Express Highway near Pushpa Park bus-stop in Malad (east).

Battling for life for a month, a 42-year-old property broker died on Monday during treatment in a Mumbai hospital. The broker had rammed his bike into a tempo in Malad (east) while his friend, riding pillion also suffered injuries in the accident.

According to Dindoshi police, the incident took place on December 2 in the afternoon, on the Western Express Highway near Pushpa Park bus-stop in Malad (east). At the time of accident, now deceased Gorai resident Paresh Sanghvi riding the bike (MH02 BS 5192) and his Sanjeev Pal was riding pillion.

Senior police inspector, Vinayak Kakade of the Dindoshi police station said, “Initially it was not clear who was riding the bike as both sustained severe injuries to thier heads and other parts due which the duo was unconscious. They were admitted to Kokilaben hospital where Sanghavi died during treatment and Pal is still unconscious”.

“After investigation and based on statements of Sanghavi’s family members we concluded that Sanghavi was driving the bike. According to a tempo driver's statement, it appears that Sanghavi was speeding and could not control the bike, ramming into the tempo. Both, Sanghavi and Pal were thrown off the bike due to the impact of the collision ans sustained injuries," said Kakade.

“A case of rash driving and causing death due to negligence has been registered against Sanghavi. The case is registered as per law and will be closed,” said Kakade.
