They met in a train. The girl was running away to save herself from a forced marriage. The boy sympathised and then fell in the love. They decided to get married and did so. But this journey ended in a police station.

There could have been no happy ending considering that the girl was 16 years old and the 22-year-old boy was already married with two children.

The Bandra police have the couple in custody after being alerted by some residents in Shastri Nagar. “They were alarmed when the man introduced the girl as his wife, considering she looked so young. We got in touch with the girl’s family only to realise that there was a case of kidnapping registered in Bihar on April 7,” said Samad Sheikh, senior inspector, Bandra police station. Bandra police informed the girl’s family, who arrived in the city on Monday to take the girl back.

Sikandar and Sneha (name changed) met while Sikandar was travelling to his village. “To ensure that no one questions the purity of my intentions, I married her,” said Sikandar. However, according to police, the marriage certificate seems to be forged. The girl’s family will take her back home on Monday.
