The newly revised Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) general test offers an applicant-friendly experience with new questions, technically advanced test patterns and a new scoring scale.

Nakul Vyas, taking the GRE test in Mumbai, said, “It is a great improvement over the old version; it is what students want.”

According to information provided by GRE conductors, the revised general test is more technically advanced and is designed to provide graduate and business schools with even more reliable results. With the freedom to move back and forth, edit or change answers, and skip and return to questions - all within a section - candidates have the ability to use more of their own test-taking strategies. New questions emphasise real-world scenarios and there is less reliance on vocabulary, adding to the appeal of the revised test.

The new Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning score scale, from 130-170 in one-point increments, will enable admission Educational Testing Services (ETS) professionals to compare candidates’ scores better.
