The cyber crime cell of Pune rural police recently nabbed a student and two former students of an international school in Pune for allegedly creating a fake Facebook (FB) profile of one of their teachers and sending obscene chat messages to his wife.

However, the students have been released, as the teacher withdrew his complaint, considering the students' future.

The police said the teacher of an international school had filed a complaint in February this year that some unidentified person has created a FB profile with his name and photograph.

The complainant mentioned that obscene chat messages were sent from this Facebook account to a lady teacher in the same school and vulgar comments about the teacher's wife were posted.

A police team led by inspector Balraj Lanjile and sub-inspector Vikas Kumbhar investigated the case. They found that the profile was created by three former students of the school. They were nabbed for questioning.

"All the students hail from well-educated families. One of the students is studying in standard X and others are in standard XII. The trio admitted that they did not have good relations with the teacher,'' said Kumbhar.

"Parents of these students were unfamiliar with the Internet," he said. The police have urged citizens to contact on 020-25658784 or cybercell. pnr@ mahapolice. gov. in.
