Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, Vinod Tawde, on Tuesday demanded a special session of the state legislature to table the Adarsh Commission report and the Action Taken Report (ATR) in the Adarsh housing society scam.

According to Tawde, the commission’s report has put the blame on politicians of the ruling government and that is why the chief minister has been forced to delay the tabling of the report.
“The report should have been completed within three months, but it has been given four extensions,” Tawde said.

Later, Tawde met governor K Sankarnarayanan to request him to ask the government to convene a special session so the ATR can be tabled.

Tawde said it is necessary for the state government to table the commission report and the ATR on the Adarsh society scam within six months from the date it was submitted to the government.

The two-member judicial commission probing the scam had submitted the report in April 19 this year. “Therefore, the government should table the report and also hold a discussion on it,” Tawde added.

Meanwhile, Tawde said that the Chitale Committee, probing the Rs70,000 crore irrigation scam in the state, had finally agreed to accept the evidence which he and his party wanted to submit.
