Sunil Grover's driver arrested by Kharghar cops

Kharghar: The police arrested popular actor and comedian Sunil Grover's driver late on Friday night after his car hit another car at Kharghar and injured three people. The accident took place around 5pm on the Sion-Panvel highway near Kharghar railway station.
According to the police, Grover was in the back seat of his BMW when his car rammed into the divider and hit another vehicle coming from opposite direction. However, no one from Grover's car suffered injuries in the mishap.
"We arrested Grover's driver Anil Kumar Yadav, 32, on Friday night. He has been booked under sections 279, 337, 338 of the Indian Penal Code and section 184 of Motor Vehicle Act. Grover, however, left the spot after a few hours," said S Jagadale, senior police inspector from Kharghar police station.
Yadav was produced before the judicial court on Saturday morning and has been remanded to magistrate custody.
The three persons who suffered injuries in the accident have been identified as Srirang Lokhande, 54, Balasaheb Patil, 35, Rushiraj Lokhande,33, all residents of Pune. They were rushed to a hospital in Kharghar by some locals. The three are now reportedly out of danger.
Vijay Patil, deputy commissioner of police, however, confirmed that it was not a case of over speeding. "Grover's car was heading in Panvel direction, when it jumped the divider and ended up on the opposite lane," he said.
