Competition to check compatibility among mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law held on Women's Day

Shivai Nagar Mahila Mandal organised a special Women's Day programme, wherein a compatibility competition between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law was conducted. Around 500 residents from Shivai Nagar, Vasant Vihar and Pawar Nagar, participated in the competition.

Called the "Ideal Mother in law and Daughter in law", the competition turned out to be a huge success and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo, Shubhangi Pugavkar and Neha Pugavkar, emerged winners. In an attempt to test their compatibility, participants were quizzed about each other. "We were asked some witty questions as well to know if we gave similar answers. Also, questions based on each others like and dislike were part of the competition," says Dipti Ghag, a participant.

The runners-up in this competition were Vidya Ghag and Dipti Ghag. Among the 500 participants, 75 were selected for the next round and they were also asked to walk the ramp. "It was fun to watch the mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law walk the ramp hand-in-hand. It is a notion that the understanding between them is not very high, hence this competition turned into a fun entertainer," says Rohit Naik, one of the spectators.

To add more fun to the event, the participants were handed coupons with names of various goddesses written on it. A lucky draw was called and the coupon with the name Durga on it won. The winner, Prabha Sonawane, took home a special gift.

Apart from the competition, the event saw many performances. Celebrities like actor Pallavi Bhaskar and gymnastics performer Pooja Surve also attended the event. But, it was the competition that was enjoyed by all as it had a great mix of entertainment, fun and spunk in it.
